What is Picture This
Quote?

Simple! It's a page dedicated to Mystery Science Theater 3000!
I take a scene from any episode, grab some images from the scene as it progresses, then I transcribe the dialog that matches the scene and place it all on my web page. The whole thing usually takes about an hour, unless there's some particularly hard to transcribe bit of audio. Too bad MST3k wasn't CC'ed! Also, I grab all the audio from the scene and link these sound files to the written text. Sometimes I do an animated gif when a single frame won't suffice.
I've worked pretty hard on some of the buttons and graphics seen on my page. I often combine pre-existing artwork or clipart to create them, as seen in the MST3k 10 Year button on my page - The item I'm most proud of.
The hardware / software I use: ATI TV Wonder VE for the video capture. I use FrontPage for the layout, and Paint Shop Pro for the image resizing, etc.
I began this feature back in 1997 in the Rec.Arts.TV.MST3k.Misc newsgroup. Back then I was posting a 320x200 single image and one or two lines that matched the scene. Since this newsgroups is not a binaries group, this was frowned upon by many, and I halted my PTQ posts a couple of months after it began. Flash forward a couple of years and here we are - Picture This Quote is now web based and better than ever!
As you can see, I provide three of the images as a replacement Windows 95, 98 & WinME boot screens. This is fun, I think, as it gives you something other to look at besides that regular old default image Microsoft provides. Do we need to be reminded for 30+ seconds what OS we're booting every day? I think not! Don't worry about harming your system with this file - it can't, and if you're tired of the image, grab a new one I post each week, or simply remove the logo.sys from the root of your C-Drive and the default boot screen will reappear. Easy!
If you like my web page, please let me know. There is an e-mail link provided at the bottom of my page. Drop me a quick note - I'd appreciate it!
Well, guess that's it. Read, View, and Enjoy!
